If you already have access to a specific Ubuntu 8.10 machine at boot, an Ubuntu.10 ISO 8 file, and an expensive spare USB stick, just run the program:

System --> Administration --> Create Bootable USB Drive

And he will do all this work for you.

    Work smart, but not hard.

Which version of the expert opinion do I have?

Does it matter if the default OS is 32-bit and I install 64-bit?

Why is my USB not bootable?

You are not booting from USB If the USB key does not boot, you need to make sure that the USB key is bootable. Either you want to select USB from the list of the most important boot devices, or you want to configure the BIOS/UEFI to always boot from the USB stick and then from the hard drive.
